The Short Version
We respect your privacy and process your data securely. We don't sell your data to anyone.
1. Google Sign-In
We use Google Sign-In to securely authenticate you and manage your account. This is how we identify whose files belong to whom. We only receive your basic profile information (like email) needed to provide the service.
2. Your Documents and Audiobooks
When you upload a document to ListenToMe, we keep the file you uploaded for as long as its audiobook is in your library, so Ask AI can look at diagrams and pictures on the original page. Files from books that failed are deleted after 10 days. Deleting a book or your account deletes its file. Your uploaded files and the resulting audio and text are stored in your own private cloud storage associated with your account. We do not use your documents to train our own AI models. To read and narrate them, pages are processed by third-party AI services acting on our behalf. On one service tier we use, the provider may keep submitted content and use it to train its models. We keep a copy of your Ask AI questions and answers to improve ListenToMe until you delete your account. If you take a photo of a page with your phone's camera, the camera is used only when you choose Take a photo, and the photo is handled like any file you upload. If your file is locked with a password, you can type the password in the app. It is used once to open the file and is deleted right away. The full privacy policy has the details.
3. Feedback
If you choose to submit optional feedback about pronunciation, pacing, or any other aspect of the service, this information is stored and used exclusively to improve ListenToMe's product and neural voices.
4. Usage and Listening Data
In the Android and iPhone apps we record which features are used (with Firebase Analytics, kept separate from your account) and, for each book you play, a short listening summary linked to your account: how long you listened, how far you got, your playback speed and whether you finished. We use it to understand how ListenToMe is used and to improve it. It never includes your document text, and it is deleted with the book or your account. The full privacy policy has the details.
5. Data Sharing
We absolutely do not sell your personal data or document contents to third parties.
